Brace Yourself for Another Day
I have always been in awe of the way we meet someone and it turns out they change our lives.
I met Ginnell McDonald in a DreamBank - Madison presentation back in 2018. She and her BFF would go to every Thursday night Dream Big programs. They'd sit up front, and the smiles on their faces were a presenter's delight.
After one program, Ginnell asked if I'd meet for coffee. Of course, I'd never say no to that and so off to Rosie's Coffee Bar and Bakery we went. An hour with Ginnell is priceless and as we shared our stories, Ginnell looked up and told me her HEART DREAM. She had written a book.
She was timid and shy about it, that's Ginnell, but when she pulled out the pages of the book from her folder, my jaw dropped and my heart sang. The illustrations are precious, she did them. Her words are caring. More coffee and my partner helped her edit it a little, while I tried to encourage a resounding yes, please publish.
And then the book was real. So many folks shared her dream. So many were drawn to this amazing woman and story, that the book was birthed.
Now today I was given the link of the backstory to Ginnell's journey. Tina Marie Hallis who helped her publish the book has produced an amazing YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HLSyBDIhjA)
I'm grateful to have met Ginnell.
I want you to as well, and I hope you'll watch it. It's the best inspiring hour you'll ever spend.

Ginnell makes little clay figures, glazes them, and gives them to everyone she meets to remind them to be gratefully courageous each day. (She's been known to pass them out to flight attendants on planes, and folks working at the bank).
She has helped hundreds of 2nd and 3rd graders to realize they are part of the human family regardless of their own limitations. She has shared two amazing young men with the world. She is full of love, gratitude, and joy amid a lifetime that would have literally crippled others.

Brace Yourself for Another Day.
Buy it, share it, buy a copy for every teacher you know, put it in little libraries. Mostly take her message of celebrating every day to heart. And, like Ginnell, follow your HEART DREAM. https://tinyurl.com/yxpgy95g
