What's on your nightstand?
Caveat: I was a professional librarian for over 20 years. That being said, folks often ask me what I'm reading. So here's a few things about my reading habits.
First, I must say that I am a Kindle reader (my sons were amazed I was a early adapter), however, my favorite books I still keep by me on my nightstand. They are perfectly hard copied and lovingly handled.
Secondly, I am a multi-book reader. I read the coziest mysteries with cats in them for pre-sleep. I read non-fiction in the afternoon reading break, about 4 pm, to learn something and I have a book of poetry or essays handy for just whenever.
Lastly, I love recommendations. If you share something with me I'm pretty apt to go to the Kindle store and look it up right away, perhaps buy it then, or put it on my wish list for later. So please share your "nightstand" with me.
So here goes for what I've been reading this past month, just listing them, no judgments. All books have at least 4 1/2 stars so enjoy.
The Renaissance Soul: How to Make Your Passions Your Life by Margaret Lobenstine
An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good by Helene Tursten (what a hoot)
Carnegie's Maid by Marie Benedict
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michelle Richardson (definitely book club-worthy)
Yes You Can -- 50 Classic Self Help Books that will Guide You and Change Your Life (pick one and be inspired)
So on this very hot Saturday, it's getting on to 4 pm and reading time....hope you'll have some time this weekend to pick up something from your nightstand. Let me know what it is.
